About UPM
The Union of Furniture Manufacturers (UPM) is the common voice and platform of furniture producers in the Republic of Moldova — an association that promotes the quality, tradition and export potential of the national industry.
Who we are
UPM is a non-profit association uniting furniture producers, workshops and wood-processing companies from across the country. Our members range from artisan workshops to industrial factories, but they share the same goal: to make quality furniture and bring it to international markets.

UPM operates within the “Beyond Furniture. We design experiences.” programme, supported through the Bridge Export initiative of the Investment Agency — a programme dedicated to growing the exports of Moldovan producers.
Moldova's furniture industry
Furniture is today one of the most dynamic export sectors of the Republic of Moldova. It accounts for roughly 3.5% of the country's industrial production (2024) and, in 2025, ranked among the three largest goods-export groups to the European Union — alongside electrical equipment and agri-food products.
The EU absorbs around two-thirds of Moldova's exports, and through the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) producers enjoy duty-free access to the European market, with Romania as the leading destination. On this foundation — a strong woodworking tradition and a skilled workforce — the sector holds real growth potential.
